About

Welcome to Ordipedia, a platform that provides an extensive library of inscriptions from the Bitcoin blockchain.

Ordipedia harnesses the concept of ordinal theory, a unique numbering system for satoshis, the smallest unit of Bitcoin. Ordinals, as these numbered satoshis are known, make it possible to identify and track individual satoshis. They can be associated with unique metadata or even images, transforming them into distinct, collectable digital assets.

Inscriptions, on the other hand, represent the process of imbuing satoshis with additional content or data. Think of inscriptions as the creation of digital artefacts, akin to NFTs, that are firmly rooted in the Bitcoin ecosystem. They are as permanent and tamper-proof as the Bitcoin blockchain itself.

On Ordipedia, you can explore these inscriptions by searching by metadata or through a text description of the associated image. We use CLIP embeddings for text-to-image search.

Ordipedia also allows users to tag and categorize inscriptions, encouraging an interactive experience. You can curate your collections and develop a personalized library of unique Bitcoin-native assets.
